illegal or not?
 

sorry if im repeating previously asked questions, but:-
my old ps2 laser mechanism broke and burnt my lma2005 disc and made it unreadable. i downloaded iso from a warez site and burnt it off to replace my ruined disc. was this breaking the law?:eek:
i thought that as long as i owned the origional disc this was ok?
after all im alowed to make a backup of my disc. aint i?:confused:
this was all done 12 months ago so its probably irrelivent now but i just read a post by suggsy and now im not sure if what i did was illegal or not.
does this law vary depending what country you live in?
i hope asking this question is not breaking the forum rules but i need to know to avoid and future problems.(the missus would go mad if the police came knockin at the door). surely if what i did was illegal i would have been contacted by now?:eek:

You are allowed to make one backup from the original that you own. IF the original got damaged then contact the Publishers for replacement. Any way you look at it downloading ISO's is illegal period. Sorry dude but discussion on this matter is closed.
