xbox mod chip

I currently play computer games and dont own any consoles but i was thinking about a xbox or ps2. I want one so that i can play "backup" games with modchip. Any suggestions on which mod chip would be best? I want a plug and play solderless. Also should i go xbox or ps2. I will not use xbox live i will use computer for online gaming.

Another question. If i buy a 250GB HD and put it in my xbox can i borrow games from friends and play them from my HDD without having to have the cd in the drive and without a mod chip?

Um moose 0011, I suggest you RE-READ the forum rules. Your allowed to make one backup from a original you OWN, not from your friends game.

Which mod chip is the easiest to install, no soldering, but the best. There's tons of solderless but which one would be best?

dont know about install, but aladdin gets the job done and it's cheap

aladdins were good, nowadays they are all cheap clones that works very bad. As much as 50% of most cloned aladdins are non-working upon delivery.

About solderless ones, I have had great experiences with the Xenium S.P.ICE. Easy to install and reliable. A soldered one is preferred of course so if you know someone that can do that go for it. Or if you can get your hands on a premodified xbox with chip and a larger hdd for a decent price thats even better... :D

If you are getting a chip to solder you can never go wrong with any xecuter chip. 2.6Lite and upwards are great.
If any of those would be to expensive the best cheapmod around is the DuoX2. I have one of those myself and I am loving every second of it.

I would say that PS2 games are much more innovative than the PC games remade for the XBOX, reusing ideas from past games for the Nth time. (I've been a PS2 owner only for a few months, having bought it primarily for the Gran Turismo series. ;))

kosmiq 11-01-2006 12:38

Are you trying to say that Gran Turismo is innovative? :P
IMHO Gran Turismo (the first one) was good when it came, the latest one is only lame.

There are several xbox-only games too and mostly games are developed for PC and xbox at the same time, not converted.

I say that the xbox kicks PS2's arse
