got a old ps2
 

i got a old ps2 about 4yrs old scph300?
havent used it for ages(its been sittin in a cupboard for 2 yrs)
i currently use a newer model.
i tryed it out and it wont spin the disc.
it inserts ok and it does 1 initial spin and then stops??
any ideas????

red screen?..dead laser maybe

Sounds like the laser's completely buggered :(

is the laser difficult\expensive to replace?
its a old spch3000 which i know are pretty shite, but if i can repair it cheeply then i will give it to the kids.
