DUO Chip doesn't reactivate.
 

Hello folks,
Wondering if someone could help me out. I have a VER#5 PS2 with a DUO Chip that's been going strong for approx. two years. I usually turn off the chip by depressing the reset button till it goes red, then depressing it again till it turns green for DVD movies to boot. Problem now is it won't reactivate to read my game back-ups. I get the red screen saying wrong type disc.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a wire came loose or the joint has dried out. Crack her open and I bet that's what you'll find :)
