Battlefield Vietnam: Mission change crashes with image

Hiya guys,
Couple of problems with the BFV mini-image (Small one, can't get the other to d/l)-
1. When a server changes between missions, the game gets stuck at the Battlefield Vietnam screen, with CPU constantly at 100%.
2. The game randomly crashes at the inital CD check, requiring the dismounting of the image, running the game and finally re-mounting the image & re-running the game.

I'm wondering if a full image would have any effect on this, but would like to know if any other users have had the same problem.
Edit: Obviously, the game works fine with the CD

Cheers

If it crashes at the initial CD check, then there is a problem with the image, because this crash only happens if the image is bad, which results in a bad key to decrypt the exe with, causing the protection to go to hell (and I wouldn't mind if it stayed their either).

A full image works 100%. I used to use a full image of CD3 that I created but then I downloaded one of the mini-images to save hard drive space.

That latest mini-image doesn't seem to crash between maps like the older one does.

Not to worry- I've just figured why; Securom dont do mini images
I'm surprised a mini-image works at all.

I think battlefield vietnam has safedisc. At least my copy does

Gotta admit I'm now confused as well :D
Scanning with PID gives me a possible CD check & key check string, but nothing more than that. If it is only a CD & key check, then WTF is the mini (But not full or CD) image crashing on the mission changes.

My head hurts........

The game must be Safedisk. That is the protection EA usally uses on their games. I don't think is Securom 7 besides BF Vietman was released before that protection was on the market. just try to read the disk and make an image if you see bad sectors in reading is very possible is safedisk

Gotta admit it is safedisc :o
My head is still going round and round and round though- Why does it crash between missions only with the mini image.
