CSI: Exe Error
Okay, I lately got CSI for a few bucks (the first version).
The problem is: The main executable is a projector exe file (macromedia), which gives an error message about a missing entry in some ini file, etc. I had a search and found out, that this error occurs, if the pathname is longer than 125 chars....okay, I uninstalled the game, then reinstalled at C:\CSI, which should be short enough including all subdirectories (longest pathname is somewhat like 80 chars), but still the same error message. Anybody ? The exact error message: Director player error: Unable to load movie playlist......blablabla Director player error: This projector is stopping ! Application error: This application cannor run. Btw, the official support only has the answer to make sure the pathname does not exceed 125 chars, nothing else, no patch....... And yes, I tried to modifiy the ini file, without results, though ! |
I'm not sure if this will work but did you installed quicktimes to play this game? If I remember correctly that game requieres that player to run the movies also if you are using the no cd crack from this site that crack don't work . I made full install and I'm no longer needed the cds but mine is the spanish version that came unprotected I don't know other languajes

Thanx for your answer !
Unfortunately...I have QuickTime installed, and the error occurs using the crack and the original. Maybe after Xmas, I will have a gift for my garbage can......:) |
Does any flash animations from websites work on your PC monty?
|
Yes, flash is installed correctly ....
|
Was just saying since CSI is a flash game believe it or not.
|
Yes, the whole CSI Series is.....CSI: Miami doesn't have this issue, cos it is a later flash version. This error occurs up to version 8.5.....
I have read, that a lot of people have problems with that, but none has found a solution, strange ! |
