Rugby League 2 Backup

I have a mod chipped V8 PS2 and have recently purchased Rugby League 2. The original game won't load anything past the "renderware" srceen. I have tried a back up disc of the game and find that the game freezes at the selection menu. The only way I can get the game to work is the put in the original game, press reset, when it freezes swap to the back up disc the it loads and run correctly. Any suggestions on the solution.

It could be that the laser is getting weak, Is this the only game you have problems with? BTW what modchip do you have?

I am not sure what chip was put in. This the only game that has a problem. I make back up discs for some of my son's game he plays regularly so the originals don't get scratched and thay all work without any problems. I was quite suprised the original didn't work. We are going to try it in a friends slim console and see if it works there.

no your chip is fine, look here for an answer seems to be a new anti mod protection!

If this is true then you need to find out what modchip you have and if it can be disabled. If so disable the chip and play the original.

Its available to download so I'll waste a disc & see if that version works.

Can't understand why somebody would bother uploading a game before checking if it even works

Needless to say yes it stops loading at the main menu.

The anti modchip protection was something I heard about a few years ago. I am suprise that it has been implemented. Is there a patch to apply to the back up disc to by-pass the protection.

P.S. I usually make a backup before putting the original game into the hands of the kids. The original is in perfect condition for ever.
