Madden 06 Skip Intro Fix?
First off, let me say that I own a 100% legal version of Madden NFL 2006 that I recieved as a Aniversary gift. Now here is my problem. Due to some corruption in my graphics card that I cannot fix, the intro scenes to the game are extremely choppy and take 15-20 to complete. Would it be possible for anyone here to make my a small fix that would remove the intro scenes? I have seen other games that have nag-screen removers, and I am looking for something similar. I know it would only take 10 minutes for some of the more experienced folk out there, and your effort would be greatly appreciated.

Just try to...
Have a look at the data-folder of the game and try to rename the videos. Maybe add ".orig" to them...
I donīt know this game or the video-format, but some games (e.g. Need for Speed Most Wanted) just skips the videos if it doesnīt find them. Some others will crash - then youīll need blank videofiles (maybe a second black screen) compressed with the same videocodec used by the game. Then you simply need to replace the videos with such blank files. N8 |
There is a file called MOVIEDAT.dat in the data0 folder. I made a copy of it, and I am going to try removing it to see if it removes intro movies.
Thanks for the 2 cents! |
I have tried deleting many files including movies.dat, however the intro movie still plays. Any help would be greatly appreciated! And I know this is probably no, but do you think EA could provide some sort of fix for me, or a way I can manually disable the intro scenes? I have a feeling they are just going to tell me to update drivers and such, however everything is up to date. I seem to have this same intro screen choppyness that takes 15 minutes to get past in NFS Most Wanted (demo) also.

have a look for any files with the extension .bik
rename them to .bak and try that |
Just searched a bit...
sadly I didnīt find something for your game, but it seems that some ea-titles have an no-video option.
Just make a shortcut to the .exe and add the /nointro to the command-line. May help. Wishing luck. By the way... Just try to install newest drivers for your video-card. Could solve this issue. C u |
