How do you get rid of Alcohol completely?

I have 2 near identical systems. One had Alcohol installed the other has never had Alcohol installed. The one without Alcohol works fine with starforce and deamon tools 4 but the one with Alcohol doesn’t.
I have recently uninstalled Alcohol plus a manual clean-up of all the Alcohol related files I could find but it still won’t work on that system.
What is it that Alcohol does to your system or what file does it leave that prevents starforce from being fooled?

As I wrote in this thread: http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=73563

Alcohol doesn't seem to have anything to do with it, I tested it on a fresh Windows install with optical drives unplugged, no go. Same on both machines I'm using.
Seems like DT4 just isn't what most of us were waiting for...

Nevertheless: congrats to everyone who could get sf games to work without even unplugging your drives!

With DT4 I just disabled the drives in the device manager, and it worked.

But it could also help if you have a good image to work with ;)

Quote:

Uninstalling guide for Alcohol 120% (v1.9.2.xxxx/v1.9.5.xxxx)

1. Unmount all mounted Images and then set the Virtual Drives to "0" in A120% Virtual Drives Settings.

2. Reboot

3. Uninstall A120%

4. Run "regedit"

Find these 2 keys and delete them
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Uninstall\{E9F81423-211E-46B6-9AE0-38568BC5CF6F}"
"HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\32418F9EE112 6B64A90E8365B85CFCF6"

After you delete these value's, Alcohol 120% is removed from your OS

5.

#1 - Remove "The Alcohol" SCSI Controller from "SCSI and RAID controllers" under the Device Manager

#2 - Remove the Plug and Play Bios Extension from System Registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\a 347bus
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\a 347scsi

#3 - Remove the Virtual Drive Drivers from the Windows/System32/Drivers Folder
a347bus.sys
a347scsi.sys

6. Reboot

If any of the above registry keys or files are missing, simply move to the next step.

Your system is now clean from any traces of Alcohol 120%

NOTE :

If you used Expert Mode during the installation of A120% just have 2 remember what you named the drivers and look for those instead
now reinstall alcohol(latest version) from expert mode and give custom names to drivers:p

Hiya,
Any chance of system specs from the people who have been posting here, to determine if there is any sort of link between SF games just working & hardware? Mine:
Athalon 64 3200+
MSI R480IL Mainboard
Sparkle Geforce 6600 512mb
1gb RAM
200gb SATA HDD
Aopen DUW1608ARR Burner & generic Sony DVD.
WinXP Pro, all updates
Alcohol 120% (No virtual drives), DT4, Nero 6 & Blindwrite all installed.

Both SF games I've tried (Bet on Soldier & X3: Reunion) simply work with absolutely no disabling of CD drives etc.

Cheers
