Unplugging ANYTHING is no option for me. I'll stick to my original instead.

Splintercell chaos theory works as well. I just created image from my original disk with dvd decrypter

He means a full image of his disc buddy. So dont ask to download that from him, that constitutes warez here.

I have dvd decrypter, but i dont know how can i do it.

in dvd decrypter up top in mode select iso and set that to read. Then hit decrypt button :)


But if you have alchol installed your stuffed. I installed it since to try see if it would work with it and now cant get splintercell to work without disk. Didnt have alcohol installed before same with trackmania.

Ive since uninstalled it and still cant get splintercell to work. I'll try it on second box later. As for trackmania it can work again but have to disable optical drives again after rebooting even tho they were already disabled. Weird

@mortar: DVDDecrypter is for removing the "copy protection" (rather: region restriction) from movie DVD's but not games!

Same here, cant get stuff to work with DT4 on a computer thats had Alcohol installed on it, hope someone comes up with a answer. Ive tried removing everything with the name Alcohol from the reg also removing it's virtual driver from device manager, but still no joy. What is it that Alcohol does that allows starforce to work.

I just reinstalled Windows on my second machine. I'm currently making an image of TM Sunrise and give it a try... I'm kind of curious...

unfortunately i had alcohol installed on second machine as well so i cant splintercell on that. But trackmania sunrise still works after i uninstalled alcohol. Just have to re disable drives everytime i reboot even though they are already disabled. Might format one of my machines

Okay, I tried it yesterday, here's the result: couldn't get TM Sunrise to work. Tried with both sec ide plugged and unplugged. The check would just take like 5 minutes before I get the error message... Image was made on a different machine from TM Sunrise original using Alcohol 120 and STARFORCE 1/2/3 preset.

So, it's not only due to previous installation of Alcohol. Seems like it's no reel step towards SF emulation. To me, unfortunately, DT4 isn't anything more than DT3.

i have alcohol v1.9.5.3105 installed and it works without any problems.

i just have to mount the image in DT and disable my dvd-rw to make it run.
(i got no emulation options in DT active)

Well you are the first I have read that has alcohol installed without having problems, that is good news. ;)

I have played SC-CT (3) and TrackMania SunRise using image made in alcohol (i never ticked any fancy settings) from my original discs, i them disabled my roms in bios ny dissabling eide channels (my hdd is Sata), i then mounted .mds in DTv4 and passed disc check and played games, i even downloaded the new FREE add on to TrackManis SunRise (need orignal game its add on not stand alone).

I have alcohol (newest build) installed (image drive not enabled)
I also have nero 7.0
I also have Slysoft AnyDvd and CloneCD installed.

None of the above hindered me in playing the above games, so anyone telling you that you need unistall Alcohol, i woudl try just dissabling the image drive if you are using it.
