Can it not be done?
I saw there is no No cd crack listed for CIV 4 on gamecopy world, and wondering if it's because it can't be made. Is this the trend of the future I wonder. I love no CD crack because my kids can play the gamewith out getting their dirty hands on my disc's. Anyway just wondering if this will be more common not to see a crack or in the case of Civ 4 is it that no one has got around to making one, which I really can't believe considering how fast many other titles are posted.........So I'm guessing it cant be done
What do you guys think.......? |
It can be done. The problem is finding the time to do it.

Your response was not really what my post was about, I was suggesting that games of tomorrow might be more difficult to crack thus putting a stop to this type of game play. I was wondering what others thought if this is so.

This is a senseless discussion for me.
copy protections are of course getting harder and a lot more resistable against the standard cracking methods and ways, see StarForce 3. But in case of Securom or SD4 its not really a problem of not having a way to circumvent the protection, its just the not available time. cracking groups just crack games that are good, so the worse ones are cracked later or never (not to make civ4 bad, but games like fear are a lot more popular in america)... thats the present point. many cracks also dont get to public and arent available on gcw etc. ... |
Everything can be done, you only need enough intelligence, enthusiasm, practice, time, and expected appreciation to do it. If you look around, there's less and less of all of these...
|
There will always be people making cracks. Its fun. Pure and simple.

Maybe there is no "no-cd" crack because.
A. Civ IV comes on DVD. B. It doesn't require a no-dvd? eg. make a copy of your original disc and run virtual cd hide or a similar utility, that should do the trick .. besides, that's a LOT easier than spending days "cracking" something that doesn't require cracking... |
It asnt been cracked cuz of SDAPI. Im pretty sure. They just changed the calc algo in Civ4. Another 2 months of ripping. :(

I'm not that good at the technical stuff, but I'm in a position I can easily hide a few games in my sleeve, due to my job I get a discount on games that makes it allmost free for me! but I don't get it if people are whining about cracks! I admit it's a decent discussion to hear peoples opinion if it's worth the trouble ot crack these latter games which are seemingly more problematic to be cracked! but people should be either VERY SMART! so shut up an wait for the crack to be released even if it takes months! (if you have a downloaded version) if not then 19 out of 20 persons here are simply here cause of the Downloaded version! I admit I had times where I simply downloaded games... why? Cause I got fed up with paying a reasonable amount of money for a game that turned out SHJITE! and I mean so bad that it was no way nice enough to replay it for even half an hour! Now I've finished my education I have a job I'm proud of which makes a lot of things easier for me in live, but STILL! I expect something in return for the amount of money I pay for a game! and Civ 4 as well as Football manager 2006 satisfy me on a basis that I know I will spent many hours playing! [/rant] I think a discussion on the price of certain games if it's worthy of the game is a bigger point of discussion than the discussion offered in this thread.. though this is a "crack files" forum so.. up to you guys. |

But good to hear you now have a job and can legally purchase those games. ;) |

Whats about Robin Hood? xDDDDDDDDDD ;) |

Maybe all crackers should be refered to as 'Robin Hood'. Maybe there should be a cracking group called 'Robin Hood and his Merry Men"?. :) |
So if a person is poor and downloads a game, he makes himself guilty of Robin Hoodying?
