About Civilization IV mini image compresion

In the nfo we can read:
Code:

The Filesize of the Image is 1GB!!! Use the Compressionfunction
of Windows and the Space you need on your Harddrive will reduced
to ca. 800kb...

But for me its still 1GB after try that (in WinXP@SP1). Works for you?

Its a maxi image it will compress down to a small size.

But when you use it its uncompressed to its normal size, which is 1gb for you.

How it works

|TOC & TOPOGRAPHY| DATA OF THE GAME ALL ZEROED OUT|

When you compress it you will get this

|TOC & TOPOGRAPHY|*|

what i mean is that, despite i compress the mini/maxi/whatyouwant-image in properties, its still 1GB and not 800kb as the nfo says so i didnt save any space

Hiya,
Try looking in my computer, rather than in the file properties- This should tell you that you have 1gb more free space than when you extracted the image; What you are doing is looking at the properties and still seing the actual size rather than the compressed size.

Cheers

Right click the mdf file, goto properties, you will find the tab that has compress this file just tick it. Click Apply, wait for a bit, eventually when done it should say size on disk is alot smaller. Then click on ok.
