UGh.. wierd selfboot cd problem with DC
Ok here's what i did...
I followed everything according to some guy Warmagic's tutorial... and i got a perfectly made DreamSNES.nrg file about 300 MB from my w84357925 mp3s i jammed on there in the sound folder.. so i turns on the Dreamcast and put the cd in... start... it goes to the normal retarded 4 option screen.. i go wtf? I click on play... it reboots the whole system (boot disc...) and goes back to the same screen.. Is my DC *#$'d up or something? |
Selfbooting is not a simple process, even for homebrew stuff. It's easy to stuff up. I suggest you follow the tutorial of DreamSNES itself, and use cdrecord or cdrwin.
|
Use BootDreams (search google for it). I very simple with this tool. It makes redy to burn selfboot image (cdi or nrg) from dir (as data - data) or burn image directly to cd (as audio - data). Use scramble step (if needed) for homebrews and skip it with "real games".
|
How do i burn the the images from bootdreams? I burned the images bootdreams made for me in the first session along with the Ip.Bin. Then on the other session i put on the gamefile. I put it in my dreamcast but nothing works, just goes to the music screen to play an audio file, wut did i do wrong?

By far the best and easiest way to selfboot any emulator for dc is discostu's selfboot solution... Echelon method is just as good but at the time it looked more complicated to me.
You should still be able to find dssbs final on dcemulation.com It's just a batch file with all the needed programs to make a selfboot cdi or nrg image You might want to give kRYPT's DC Factory a go, if you can find it... laterz |
