ps2 about to break ?
 

lo everyone,

im using a ps2, i think version 7 or 9. I have a couple of backups which work fine...but lately i some problem. When trying to play those copies, the ps2 someone tells me to enter proper dvd media, so to say the red-ish screen appears. If i restart like 2-3 time, the game will work.
Does this indicate my laser/ps2 is about to break ?
Im using a dms3 btw, no updates.

Are you having any problems once the game actually boots up? Long loading times, jumping FMV etc etc??

If not then i'd say it's related to your mod rather than your ps2.

sorry for the long delay, but to answer your question: No, no long loadtimes or black screens or whatever once the game is actually "accepted" by the ps2. So i guess its the DMS i have. Ok then :D

what about your origionals ??? do they play fine ?

Yep, orginals play absolutly fine.

It could be that the media is degrading, It could also be the laser needs cleaning or is just getting weak. Try burning a new backup from the original, see what happens
