please can any1 help? my dvd has been anti-blaxxed

i installed anti blaxx and now my dvd has just disappeared. i removed, physically, then put it back in after reboot etc... nothing. i tried an old cd burner... that seems to be detected fine by windows but whatever antiblaxx it has stopped windows seeing it cos i cannot get it to appear at all. i cannot format my hdd cos i have too much to backup and the cdburner is just not up to backing up 15 gb of data.
i tried putting the cd burner on master and slaved the dvd... now the cd is there but the dvd still hasn' shown up.

i uninstalled antiblaxx as soon as i noticed my dvd drive had disappeared. the reg backup tool with AB is useless and actually backed up nothing. if only i had backed my registry?!?!?!? aghhhhhhh

i hate anti blaxx and i warn other users you take your pc's life in hand when installng this piece of badly coded utter tripe.

can someone tell me how to get my beloved dvd burner back? if i can just do that i can backup then format the drive to banish all traces of anti blaxx crap from my system.

anti blaxx was v.1.17. i have winXP SP2 Dx9.0c, AN7 mobo latest mobo drivers, athlonXP 3200, 1024 gb ddr ram running at dual channel, radeon9800pro.
i haD ALCHOL120 and blindwrite installed but uninstalled them. antiblaxx actually damaged the alchol120 files too as well as my system taking 2 mionutes to bootup when it used to be 20 secs. but this only hapens when the dvd is plugged in. so antiblaxx has done something nasty to my dvd drive or windows way of detecting it.

pleaseplease please please please please can ANYONE help?!??!?! i am desperate cos i cannot even do a reinstall of windows!!!<cos i cant backup>

thanks

1. check if the dvd is reported in the bios during the bootup post operation, if not u have cabling/power issues.. if so proceed to step 2
2. load windows in safe mode, see if the drive appears in the my computer, if so a restart might simply fix it, if not proceed to step 3
3. in the system configuration / device manager see if any devices are detected there and/or are disabled, if the dvd drive is one of them try reenabling it
4. if the above was not successful, try this (entirely at your own risk)
remove the ide driver, and the cdrom etc.. from the device manager, reboot and see if windows redetects them, sometimes you have to remove the controller from device manager to force windows to do a complete redetect, it has happened to me a few times, but again this is entirely at your own risk, it should be safe as windows should redetect the items again, but each pc is different thus there is a potential your windows might not start up again... good luck
