Quake 4 Sound Issues
 
I have Quake 4 but during the Game play the sound get's poping noises & gets irretating & I have a Sound Blaster Live.

Does anyone have any clues on how to fix this ?

Also has anyone else Experienced this same problem...

Try this

Goto start menu > run > type dxdiag

Then on sound tab, change the sound acceleration to basic (slide the slider to the left)

then try

Just tried what you said

But didn't fix it as it still poping

Any other suggestions ?

All my drivers etc... are updated with my specs

3 Gig Pentium CPU
1000mb Ram (1 gig)
Windows Xp Pro with SP2
DirectX 9c
FX5200 128mb Nvidia

Q4 Running in @ all set to Medium

i take it you are running a 'realtek ac,97' onboard sound chip..try and pick up a cheap soundblaster for a few quid.(i always see them at boot sells,i had like 10 of them at one point)

No I am Not Running the 'realtek ac,97' & is Disabled in my Bios

I am Running a Sound Blaster Card With Drivers (24/07/2002) & I can not get any later drivers than that as I have tried & always seem to be Wrong Drivers.

My Card is less than 2 Yrs old

But I do have a Asus P4P800 Deluxe MB

Just noticed your GFX card, I think your on the cusp of the minimum specs with that card.

If your gfx settings in the game are too high, bring them down a bit.
