I would guess some very new version of Safedisc with alot of SDAPI's in it.
Perhaps Safedisc 4.6 or something like that... Could of course be SecuROM too but I doubt that... Starforce it can not be because then no PC will be able to play the game the next 10 years... :p

i cant remember raven software and id using starforce...
always safedisc, for doom3 too.
i read its as good as mp in singleplayer, about 90% in a games magazine in germany thumbs up !

After the piracy disaster with doom 3 (most pirated game in history) i wouldn't be at all surprised if they had diched safedisc and gone for starforce.

how would anyone know the protection until its released? its not like anyone can get to work on a crack.

http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=s...C&title=106392
released on the 21st of october

Muji-FightR 18-10-2005 11:55

Well, you can often guess the copy protection, publisher always have some kinda habits in case of copy protections, they often spend lots of money on a copy protection, they cant use a new one every few month ;)

glenbo 18-10-2005 11:57

but why if you have nothing to work with?

glenbo 18-10-2005 13:07

i have just read for all you guys who want to know, protection= safedisk 4

GLH 18-10-2005 13:08

When i read the second post in this thread, then i come to the clue, that WILDWING already has the game. It's protected with Safedisc 4.60 !!!

glenbo 18-10-2005 13:25

is that good news glh? caus thats a older protection isent it?

TippeX 18-10-2005 13:32

nope its newer glenbo..

glenbo 18-10-2005 13:37

o,sorry im getting it confused with securom 7...i thought it didnt make sense for them to use a older version lol!

caki 18-10-2005 16:51

Its not 100% that it has SDAPI in it. So far, only games published by EA have had this feature implemented by it... Im getting some game by the end of this week, among them Quake 4, so I will check it out.

Quake 4 Protection

Hi all
Yesterday I bought Quake 4 on DVD
I also found out that:

Copy-Discovery 2000 tells me that Quake 4 is protected with (Quake4.exe = DBPE & a PBSV.dll = SVPK

And ProtectionID v5.0 Final C tells me that Quake 4 is protected with
(SafeDisc v4.60.000) But don't no which file it's in but proberly Quake.exe

Any suggestions on making a working backup ?
