Is there a way to mount more than four Images with Daemon 3.47?
Just a small question. Is there a way to mount more than four Images at Daemon 3.47 at the same time? I have 15 free drive letters, so it would be nice to have a way to mount more Images? Thanks for any idea?

You could install Alcohol 120% and get 6 more virtual drives besides the 4 from Daemon, but as far as I know I think Daemon 3.47 is maxed out at 4, maybe the new version thats due out this month or early next month will support more virtual drives.

why only 6? i have 31 alcohol drives and 4 daemon

@glenbo
Far out!! :eek: Why so many? lol |
You got it wrong! glenbo drove his car 31 times under the effect of alcohol so far and got busted only 4 times (daemon = policeman). :D
But seriously, there are only 26 letters in the English alphabet and then A: and B: are reserved and you need, at least, C: for a single partition on a single hard disk drive (which is not a very smart setup anyway). Plus probably at least one letter for a CD/DVD drive. Then remain 22 drive letters only. [Edit] By the way, being able to mount multiple images won't help much at all, as most games/game installers/other applications are not smart enough to find out that their CD's have been inserted into multiple drives. Once they find the first CD, most will insist on getting the second, third etc. in the same drive; only recent installers allow you to, at least, enter the drive/path of the files of the next CD... :( |
lmao!
now that you said it,i counted my drives in 'my computer' and there is only 21 virtual drives. obviously a,b,c,d,e,f are taken up (what is the 'b' drive btw?) in alcohol it is set as 31,so it obviously cannot count them after you get to z :P plus i got daemon set at 4.. so there is only 17 alcohol drives set.. anyway's :P i got that many set cos i prefer mini images to cracks..no paching worrys etc..so i make mini's of all my games and mount them :P not had any errors ever,so i recommend it. |
Back in the DOS days, on a single floppy disk drive PC, drive B: was a "phantom mirror" of drive A: in case some software insisted on accessing the only floppy disk drive via letter B:. Then you got an error message "Please, insert disk into drive B:" or similar to which you simply replied "Retry" or similar and, from then on, your only floppy disk drive was called drive B: and drive A: became the phantom mirror. If a software accessed drive A:, the same occurred the other way around.
Under Windows, the phantom floppy disk drive B: doesn't exist anymore but its drive letter is reserved, unless you explicitly assign letter B: to some drive: a hard disk, CD/DVD-ROM, RAM disk, USB flash drive, network drive etc... |
Thanks for all answers. I hoped I have just to use one software. I have Nero 7 for CD / DVD burning so I tried to avoid installing another burning tool. ;)

you cant go wrong with alcohol,so much easier to use than nero..less buggy and less messing around with settings.
i have both :P (but mine is nero 6,i aint paying £100 for nero 7 when i got nero 6 free with my dvd rw :P ) |
I got the 7.0 version for 30,- € (Update). Can I run both at the same time or do I have to uninstall Nero first?
