Logitech Harmony woes with your Xbox
 

Hey guys....I just bought the Logitech Harmony 880 and if you have not seen this, then you need to check it out......Kickbutt remote control with Color LCD.

Anyway...they have buttons for everything and I was wondering...It has a Play Game button that you can program to turn on tv, receiver, switch av modes and ....YES....turn on your game system....ahhh...the catch......Can I DO THAT?? Is there something I can get and solder, plugin or whatever to have it turn on my xbox remotely...Is this even possible? I guess I would have to have the remote also, but the remote will not do that...Any suggestions.....Just anoither thing to keep my lazy ass on the sofa and watch por...uhh I mean play Burnout Revenge...lol

Long story short:
you must add an IR port yourself to the xbox so that it can connect to something.

Yeah it is... but who would buy some remote to switch on and off the xbox which costs as much as the box itself anyway???

I got a harmony 655 but I have never thought about using it on the xbox...

I just put a power button on my controller for that.

haha....Well...I am not buying the remore FOR the xbox...It is just a plus.....
And my buddy is in the home theater business and I got the 880 for $110, which is killer.....I since then Got HDTV and DVR in the house and that added another remote, so I have my projector, receiver, dvd player, xm radio, cable, vcr, theater pc and xbox that all have remote controls...AHHHHHHHH....hehe....So it's a toy just like anything else.....I probably still would have got it, but I would hate my self in the morning....lol
