TM Sunrise, Starforce 3 Code

Hi,
i've a problem with TM Sunrise (like many people). I've burned the backup, installed and started. But after the Security Tool has checked my CD, the Tool wants me to give in a Code, but not the Serial.
I've read, that the code has something to do with the cdvd.exe (somewhere in the Trackmania.cfg I have to type in the code ) but I don't know how to use cdvd an I don't know which Code the Security Tool want to have.

please help!!

P.S.: I doesn't matter what key you type in your *.cfg file (for information purpose only), but of course it has to match your version

fixbaerchen 30-09-2005 06:48

Sorry, but I don't understand the Tutorial:

Quote:

- create config file and save as tmsunrise.cfg:

TMSUNRISE
EK7**********************
235520 19
107008 22
where do I find the values, that I have to put into the cfg?

Quote:

- measure original angles (also works with a mounted image including a good DPM):
how do I measure this?

Quote:

sfcdvd.exe //./x: tmsunrise.cfg > Angles.txt (save as *.bat)
what means that: "//./x"? I only understand that I have to rename the Angles.txt to Angles.bat, but I don't know how to get the Angles.txt :D
Or becomes it generated with the exe+the right values in the tmsunrise.cfg?

Quote:

sfcdvd.exe //./x: tmsunrise.cfg s24 t5 m0 v0 > Sector shift.txt (save as *.bat)

Execute *.bat, open Sector shift.txt and add recommended values to config file e.g.:

1 11 15 11 16 10

- Create patched image:

sfmdf.exe tmsunrise.cfg TMSUNRISE TMSUNRISEpatched s v1 (save as *.bat)
I don't understand one thing of that :(

Don't think I'm stupid, but I never burned or tried to play a game with such a hard secure :)

It's explained in the cdfreaks thread. If you have same SF-key just don't care about that (one needs a buslogger for finding out values).

 Open Windows Editor and type in:
sfcdvd.exe //./x: tmsunrise.cfg > Angles.txt
now save that text as whateveryouwant.bat (for x you should use the letter of the drive you are using)

P.S.: - Have you actually downloaded the tools from cdfreaks thread ?
Here you can find a german guide:

I'll try it right after I checked my emails :D

:(
when i patch the image, there appears after a while a message saying: "Not supported Sector Size (0 Bytes)"

*edit*
oo.. i'm stupid :D i've given the image files the wrong names :) now it works

fixbaerchen 02-10-2005 04:42

sh*t it doesn't works :(
The patched Image is 553MB big and if I burn it not even the Autoplay starts and if I try to start s.th. manual from the CD it doesn't works, too

Zulu 02-10-2005 06:34

- 553 MB  ehm... very strange
When you measure your burnedpatched copy (without sector shift in cfg), which angular differences do you get (the bold ones in my example) ?
Phase3: Step 1: Angle 255 degree = 259-4 (SPR 19.8 = 18.2 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 2: Angle 353 degree = 348+5 (SPR 20.3 = 17.7 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 3: Angle 102 degree = 102+0 (SPR 20.8 = 17.3 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 4: Angle 88 degree = 83+5 (SPR 21.3 = 16.9 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 5: Angle 223 degree = 225-2 (SPR 21.8 = 16.5 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 6: Angle 116 degree = 108+8 (SPR 22.3 = 16.2 deg/sector)

- It doesn't work in every drive, but in MUCH more than securom Twinpeak copies do (and like Securom Twinpeak copies you can't e.g. install from such a non-standard CD in every drive)

fixbaerchen 02-10-2005 07:07

OK, here are the angles of the burnedpatched copy:

Phase3: Step 1: Angle 168 degree = 165+3 (SPR 19.9 = 18.1 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 2: Angle 160 degree = 360+160 (SPR 20.4 = 17.6 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 3: Angle 143 degree = 259-116 (SPR 20.9 = 17.2 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 4: Angle 63 degree = 17+46 (SPR 21.4 = 16.8 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 5: Angle 329 degree = 146-177 (SPR 21.9 = 16.5 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 6: Angle 333 degree = 300+33 (SPR 22.3 = 16.1 deg/sector)

I think the angular differences don't look like yours :D

*edit*
oh sorry, that are the values from the image because I just remarked, that the burnedpatched copy don't works at all :(
So, I think I've done something wrong :P

Zulu 02-10-2005 07:20

In the linked guide you can read:
Starforce has a tolerance of approx. 20°; your Original angles 168, 160... are wrong, too, so it's wrong right from the start, sorry. It seems the drive you've used isn't precise enough; try other speed parameter or another drive

P.S.: I hope you didn't just use the sector shift of the example because it's different for every CD-RW (die Original-Winkelwerte kannst du aber ruhig aus dem Beispiel übernehmen, also den ersten Schritt überspringen)

fixbaerchen 02-10-2005 10:25

Oh no! I've understood just now, that I have to use a CD-RW and not a CD-R. So it couldn't have worked, also if the values were right :D

*edit*
hmm... I've found a german tutorial, but I get the same solution (the 533MB image :()

Maybe that will help you to help me :D:
That are the steps after which I worked:
1. burn the image (8x, RAW/DAO)

2. execute the *.bat file:
sfcdvd.exe //./F: trackmaniager.txt s24 t5 m0 v0 > track_log.txt

3. I got the track_log.txt:

Phase2: RPM 1472.001 = 40.761 ms (deviation 0.012 ms)
Phase2: SPR 18.426 = 19-3.02%
Phase4: RPM 1285.052 = 46.691 ms (deviation 0.051 ms)
Phase4: SPR 21.290 = 22-3.23%
Phase3: RPM changed by -13.56%
Phase3: Sector shift used: 0 0 0 0 0 0
Phase3: Step 1: Angle 114 degree = 265-151 (SPR 18.9 = 19.0 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 2: Angle 333 degree = 350-17 (SPR 19.4 = 18.5 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 3: Angle 253 degree = 95+158 (SPR 19.9 = 18.1 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 4: Angle 26 degree = 75-49 (SPR 20.4 = 17.7 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 5: Angle 183 degree = 235-52 (SPR 20.8 = 17.3 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 6: Angle 338 degree = 120-142 (SPR 21.3 = 16.9 deg/sector)
Phase3: Sector shift recommended: 8 1 11 3 4 9

4. I used the "recommended Sector shift" and got these Angle Values:

Phase2: RPM 1471.946 = 40.762 ms (deviation 0.013 ms)
Phase2: SPR 18.421 = 19-3.05%
Phase4: RPM 1290.233 = 46.503 ms (deviation 0.089 ms)
Phase4: SPR 21.384 = 22-2.80%
Phase3: RPM changed by -13.16%
Phase3: Sector shift used: 8 1 11 3 4 9
Phase3: Step 1: Angle 278 degree = 265+13 (SPR 18.9 = 19.0 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 2: Angle 346 degree = 350-4 (SPR 19.5 = 18.5 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 3: Angle 92 degree = 95-3 (SPR 20.0 = 18.0 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 4: Angle 77 degree = 75+2 (SPR 20.4 = 17.6 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 5: Angle 227 degree = 235-8 (SPR 20.9 = 17.2 deg/sector)
Phase3: Step 6: Angle 128 degree = 120+8 (SPR 21.4 = 16.8 deg/sector)
Phase3: Sector shift recommended: 7 1 11 3 4 9

5. The differences are under 15 degrees, so patched the image

6. I patch it and get the 533MB image

Whats this ?

I have Trackmania Sunrise on CD as well, now I come accross this Topic & I am at a complete confused state of mind...

1. Am I wrong in saying that you can not make a Backup copy of StarFoce 3.xx.xxx yet.

2. Is what you are describing in this Topic supposed to be able to make a Backup successfully.

3. Please correct me if I am wrong but don't you just enter your CD Key & Restart the PC after before you can play & or is that different based on what you are saying in this Topic... (Protected Backup Copy)

Ok I might be totally wrong about what I'v just said but I am Curious & confused at the same time... as if this is a or can be a successfull way to Backup a StarForce Game then I am Interested in knowing if its possible.

  ;)

Zulu 22-10-2005 07:01

1. For CD's you are wrong; backups possible that work in most ROM drives (DVD's can only be measured, but not patched/burnt)
2. Made several copies and they all work like a charm
3. Follow the link on top and then further to cdfreaks-Forum; everything is explained there; if you need a guide how to analyze Bushound log PM me.

P.S.: Would you please tell us the first three numbers/characters of your key; maybe someone allready has a config file.
