hdloader messiah pro 2
 

Is it possible to boot hdloader from memory card or hard drive with the messiah pro 2 chip? If it is, could someone let me know how to do it? thanks guys.

I tried the search button but couldn't come up with anything relevant. Can anybody help me out here? My messiah pro 2 was a great investment. Two years and not a single problem.

There are tutorials on how to install HDLoader to the memory card. Search for more information on the Memory Card, or MC Exploit... :)

Ok, here's the question. I have the messiah pro 2 chip and the original hdloader disk. What I want to do is be able to boot hdloader without using any cd's at all. I have been looking into this for over 3 weeks. And all that I have found is that certain chips do this or I have to use a ps1 disk. Both of these defeat what I am trying to do. Has anyone else accomplished what I am trying to with anything other than these specific chips? If it can't be done, this is what I am starting to get, then could someone at least let me know.

No you don't.

By using the exploit method (PS1 disc), you set the default Boot setting to Boot MC1 so that when that or any MC with an ELF file is inserted, then that will boot by default without a disc being inserted...

OK, thanks lufcfan for replying. I still don't get it. If I used the ps1 exploit method, wouldn't I still have to boot using a ps1 disk? How would I set the default boot setting to mc1, and how would I transfer the hdloader elf to the mc? I'm sure there is an easy way to do this, I just don't have a clue as to where to start. Ok so you want to boot HDL from your memcard with no disc in your PS2 what so ever.

You cant do this with the messiah chips. More modern chips like the Matrix Infinity and the Crystal Chip have what is called Dev1 mod which will point the PS2 to any elf file you have on your memory card in mc0:\BOOT\BOOT.ELF

You could use the explote to do this with your messiah but that kinda defeats the purpose. Since its moded just burn the most resent patched HDL to a good quality CD-R and boot it from disc until you get the time and money to upgrade your chip to a Dev1 chip.
