Battlfield 2 question
Ok so i bought the DVD version of the game, and its awesome no doubt... but there is something that i cant stand, whenever i connect to a server, the game loads pretty fast (considering that it loads a lot of **** and it has exellent graphics) but when it says "LOADING COMPLETE, VERYFIYING CLIENT DATA" that **** takes like 5 minutes to load.... im not sure but my internet connection speed might also have influence in this problem i only have 512kb down and 128 up....
is there any way to reduce the amount of time that this takes? coz i spend like 5 minutes after the map has loaded and that is annoyin thanx |

What is the specs of your PC? Write them down and we might get a clue.
|
Im leaning towards behind a router or a tightfisted firewall :P
|
that message normally only pops up when u change your gfx settings
if its happening all the time, u need to get in touch with EA Tech Support |
k here are my specs:
Intel Pentium 4HT, 3200 MHz 1024 MB (DDR SDRAM) NVIDIA GeForce 6800 (256 MB) Multimedia Intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller Maxtor 6Y200P0 (200 GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/133) ATAPI DVD DD 2X16X4X16 DVD-ROM 16X (16x DVD-ROM) LITE-ON DVD+RW LDW-401S (DVD:4x/4x/12x, CD:40x/4x/40x DVD+RW) i am also behind a router which i have no idea if it has anything to do with this.... thanx for trying to help.... if no one knows ill guess ill go to EA tech Suport edit: i have a friend and we connect thru teamspeak we play on a server when we load he always goes ingame real quickly... ive also asked more than one friend... it loads quick for all of them xcept for me... its just that verifying client data part right after the map is done loading |
Well your PC is good enough to give great loading times... Probably something with the router then, but that is not something I have knowledge in, sorry... :-\
|
ok, in the ea support they say that for problems connecting to server i must open up a list of ports... i did this to my router and i did it to my firewall...
i defragmented the hard disk ( 2 times ) but it still nothing... i hope to buy another gig of ram this coming days... i will post to u guys if that will help at all... thanx for ur advice and ur replies guys :( |
More ram wont make a diff in that problem, its your router for sure.
|
Remember though make sure the ports you open are TCP and not UDP.
|
hmm... i think the router is not the problem i tried the game in my father's pc (he has a 64 bit amd) that is pretty new... and the game ran just fine... so it has to do with the speed of my HDD in some way since we both have the same ammount of ram... and my cpu speed is fast enough... so the problem might just be my harddisk... ima delete some stuff and defrag again and see how it goes..
thanx again for replies |
hey guys i just wanted to tell u that the gB of ram that i added did the trick for me... now it takes 30 seconds to load the game and it doesnt lag at all when it starts
thanx! |
I was having similar issues. Perhaps I'll try some more memory.
