Dungeon Siege 2 IP connection question.

Hello,

I have a quick question about the process by which direct connection games validate cd key. I run a simulated internet at my work for test purposes whenever we release new software for the sales force. I created a basic mirror copy of it in my basement, originally a pet project to make my own gameing cafe from my basement. Anyway off the tangent, its simulated internet without a ture network. The computers can't see eachother unless they connect in via ips which i've assigned to them. This poses the problem when me and my friends want to do alittle lan fun with this game and it tries to validate to the internet that isn't there. I poped on the gas powered games forums but they gave me the same run around interplay did with NWN. I was wonding if anyone has found a way yet to bipass this or validate in another form. Any comments or help would be cool, thanks in advance.

Is your virtual net using TCP/IP? If not that could be the problem.

In pervious games i've been able to use the tc/ip values i've assigned to the computers to work. Think of it as an internet that is only in the house. I have afew mock up websites and so on. They have standard router ips that scale, like 10.31.110.X(1-9). The problem is more that whenever i try it asks to validate and since its not the real net there isn't a way to do that.

EDIT-

My mistake you may not know what i'm talking about, when you go into tc/ip it attempts to validate cdkey and pings a server or somthing. On my normal computer this isn't a problem but well yeah i'm picky i want it to work on my lan boxes.
