If you're not familiar with x86 assembly (does Madden 2006 have a commercial copy protection anyway?), your best choice for getting rid of the need to insert the CD's for playing is making a mini image (if none have been created yet). There's a guide on how to do it; search on this forum to find a link, I don't have it handy right now.

i think its safedisc 4, so he might have a tricky time if he hasn't encountered it as he'll have to crack that and then remove the other cdcheck in the game

If you have the extra hard drive space you could just use Alcohol 120% or a similar program and mount a burnt image.

I used Daemon tools and mounted the image, but now i have a different problem. The game starts up as if the CD is there, but then during loading I get a "Protection Error". Any ideas on what would cause that?

Would like to add that it does the same thing with the original cd in, so it must be a problem with my computer. I tried installing it on my laptop, and it works fine there. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 5900 FX, with the latest drivers, I have an SB Audigy 2, also with the latest drivers, and Im running Windows XP with all the latest updates.

Well, if you're having problems with your original game already then the game publisher and the official game support are what you need for a (possible) solution; this is not a general game support forum. Good luck!

blackstreak30th:

If you have Nero, uninstall it or update it to the latest version. Some people have encountered the same, and it turned out to be a module in Nero causing this error message.

And now back on topic :p

I know its not a general help forum, at first i didnt try it with my cd in, i updated after. Thank you for the tip The-S-Owl, ill try it when i get home.

Errr...
I made a full image of madden06 cd1 and it worked quite good for me.
Since i wanted to make a DVD out of the 3CDs it isnt possible to put a 800mb file on the DVD, so i tried making a mini image...It didnt work for me, it says "Please insert the right disk" or just closes and Windows says "Error encountered, Errorreport, bla bla bla" ?!
WTF is this? I thought it was possible to create mini images for SD ? Is it because of SD4? I dunno but it works with a big image so why not with a small one ? There is no NoCD crack out yet, needless to tell you
Grrr. what to do ? Anyone made one and wants to upload it?

Emcee_Deamon 28-09-2005 22:22

Could someone please upload a working mini image. i made the mistake of leaving my play disk on the ground, its now in several pieces... Cheers.

If your original CD/DVD is broken, contact the publisher for a replacement. Also, read the forum rules, especially rule #3!

NO CD for Madden NFL 2006

I have tried everything posted here and thought Alcohol 120 with the image mounted would solve the problem for sure but no avail. No matter what program I use to mount an image it keeps asking for the cd anyway. Any suggestions???
Thanks
