hi ping on bf2
 

anybody have this problem after using the no-cd fixed image? after loading w/ the no-cd fixed image #2, my ping would shoot up to over 300 after just a few seconds. anybody think the no-cd caused this?

also, the only reason im using this is cause my dvd drive screwed up on me and im waiting for hp to ship me a new one. anybody got any recommendations as to which file to d'load to get bf2 to run smoothly until i get my new drive?

Bad net conn at the time?

Bad server lag?

Lots of other things can contribute to your ping amount.

update punkbuster manually using pbweb.exe

I use the MiniImage by BLeH! and have a ping under 100 !!!

I'm using JMT mini image and see pings starting at 30ms. I play 95% on ranked servers so maybe theres a factor.

You got to remember, we are paying beta testers for EA despite their self-proclaimed "best support in the industry". I'll probably skip the expansion until it hits the bargain bin.

im dl'ing the pb update right now. ive never had any trouble till i tried using the no-cd image. the only reason i hafta use it right now is bc my dvd drive screwed up and im just waiting for the new one to be shipped to me.

before typically my ping would stay below 80, now after just a minute it shoots up to 500+. i mean, i cant even play at all w/o getting kicked off. just wondering if it was bc i wasnt using the disc.

Perhaps there is some SpyWare or Trojan installed on your system, which is using your internet-connection...

no, im sure theres no adware/virus on my comp. its just such a coincidence that it never did this before i started using the no-cd image.

sometimes it works fine, then it just hits 800 ping for about a min. dont understand it at all.
