HDLoader for the slimline PS2?
Or any game ripping software really. I have an older PS2 with HD and HDLoader. My buddy has the new slim line PS2 and wants to rip games to a hard drive like me. I have heard that you can now use a USB external hard drive for this. I know I've read it somewhere but couldn't come up with it during a search. Can someone point me to a walkthrough page or something? Or what external hard drives are compatible and what ripping software would he be able to use? Thanks guys. :)

for the slim ps2 you should use hdconnect and hdloader patched with /V flag and use WinHIIP to transfer the games to the hd

check out www.usbextreme.com

You can look at my overview of HD-Connect here
http://www.norcalmods.com/view_doc.php?view_doc=12 The problem with USBExtreme is that its game compatibility is very low not to mention very buggy and the games it does work with are very slow to load, I had heard that they are even slower then playing them from disc! |

No idea what that is. Sorry. I don't want to use usbextreme if it has poor compatibility. I've already ran across several games that will not work with my older PS2 and HDLoader. It sucks. Now then, I read through the link by spedmetal. First, looks like my friend must have a mod chip installed for it to work correctly? That SUCKS. Next, it requires soldering just to get the IDE connector on there? Again, that SUCKS. I know he's not going to do all that. Isin't there a simple USB plug and play type CD he can use that works with atleast 90% of games? |
simply put ...... nope

"Compatibility Menu Normally, over 95% of games work with HDAdvance without flaw when running from your hard disk drive. Some of the games require compatibility modes enabled before they will work properly with HDAdvance. In order to enable one or more compatibility modes for a game, have the game selected in the game list and press SELECT on your controller. This will bring up the compatibility settings menu. From here you can individually enable or disable each of the three compatibility modes." ???? It follows with a lengthy list of compatible games. That's the same as HDLoader. What's wrong with that? |
dude arent you asking about the slim pstwo????!!! HDAdvance may boot in your v12 but with no HDD how in the hell are you going to use it. Also HDAdvance is stolen data that you can get for free.

Anyone that pays for HDAdvance is an idiot.

Yeah if you want to use a USB drive your only alternative is that crappy USBExtreme.

Or youŽre going to look after HDD-Connect! If youŽll find it, you can solder an IDE-Cable into your Slimline PStwo! SO you can use HD-Loader or HD-Advance, n you never ever need crap usbextreme
