Second Sight
I just ordered the game online and its downloading now. But according to the email i got from them, i only get to install the game 3 times before i have to request 'permission' to install it again.
I dislike the idea of buying software and then being told there's a set limit to how many times i can install it. I'm beta testing vista, so if i install it under there and under xp i'll have used up 2 installs already. Does anyone know how hard nosed they are about the 3 install limit? And is there anything i can do to bypass that limit if they are hard nosed about it? Again ... i've BOUGHT the game and its downloading now. So i'm not asking for help to play a stolen game or to help copy it around. I just want to know i'm not going to get screwed if i install the game more then 3 times. I looked at gamecopyworld and there's an unlocker on there ... but i cant tell if thats for the cd version of the game or what (not even sure if the cd version of the game suffers from an install limit as well). Thanks in advance for any help |
The available Unlocker from GameCopyWorld is for unlocking the levels. It has nothing to do with the copy protection.

Welcome to the world of DRM, be prepared to see much more of it with upcoming titles.
|
yeah i'm not new to drm... windows xp has been around for a while ;)
This is just the first game i've bought where they state you have a limit to how many installs you can do. half life has drm but they policy seems a lot more reasonable. So i'm guessing this means there is, as of yet, no way to circumvent the 3 install limit? |
if you need more installs just request them, and they will give em.

ok ... guess i'll test that out when/if i hit the 3 limit.
