GAAAHHHH SX Port?

I've never had so much trouble with a PS2 before in my life. So I get the laser all tuned up, reads like an f'ing champ, no skips, pauses, or anything, even on the cheap media! But it refuses to play PSX Backups. Plays original PS1 games without a hitch.

I've re-soldered the SX connection at least 4 times and this still isn't working for me. Possible defective chip? When I put in a backup it just keeps saying "Please wait" in the boot manager, it never can figure out what kind of disc it is.

Crystal Chip in a v9, running 1.5v2 firmware.

I've put so much work into this Ps2 I just want to stab myself in the face.

i think you should try playing it on a friends ps2 that has the same chip or that has a matrix infinity chip so that you can see if it is your chip or if the matrix chip plays it

The backups work fine on my v4 with a DMS3. I think something must be wrong physically. I just resoldered it, gonna see if it works.

Anyone know if the SX port is the only related to PSX function?
