question regarding play disk emulation
 

ok..heres my situation....
i have a older game called Casanova..
its a 2 cd game...during install only cd1 is needed for the game..cd2 is the play disk..i scanned the cd and it says theres no protection(used game jack scanner)..i copied the play disk(cd2) to hd and tried making bin-cue,iso,mds,etc so i could try to emulate the play disk without using my original cd.(i dont want to screw up my main cd)..
does anybody have any tricks or suggestions on how i could make this work??
i dont want to use a cd at all...(im aware that i could just make a backup of the play disk but dont want to if i dont have to..)

If the game isn´t protected, try with an CD/DVD emulator how daemon-tools, or virtual drive of alcohol 120 %. Mount image (bin/cue, mds, etc) and try it.

Anyway, check it protection with "a-ray scanner" too.

thanks for the reply....i scanned the install directory of the game..nothing came up..than i scanned the play disks.and nothing as well..(im using the aray scan app you mentioned)

no luck..i tried emulating with daemon and alcohol and still nothing...

any more ideas??

What is the error message? , could help about causes.

Maybe, the game search at installation drive. For example, if you install game in drive E:, and the virtual drive is F:, maybe, in some *.cfg or in windows registry, there is information about drive, and search only in E: .Was usual in old games.

Search for *.cfg in directory game and edit with notepad, or search for "casanova" in windows registry (regedit.exe), for look any keys about drive letter, and if you find it, change keys to virtual drive letter. Take care in windows registry.

i have mds,bin-cue,iso images of the play disk on hd...
will see what happens..

p.s..there wasnt any error message..just keeps asking for cd2(play disk)

it worked mate..:D
the file was called fl.ini
i had to change drive D to drive I
CDPATH: D:\
now its
CDPATH: I:\

will see if any errors occur now..
