Working Alternative for BF2 1.02
I've been reading all threads for BF2 and none of the methods worked...
I then went on some other forums and found how they got rid of detection of daemon 3.47 mounted drives So all i did was install the game, updated the game to 1.02, downloaded an image, then i followed this guy's steps (Registry edit one). ============================== Flightmedic28-05-2005, 03:34 AM http://www.makeabackup.com/ offers anti-blaxx the v1.6. The program uses SecuRom 7 which the new version of anti-blaxx supports there are several other ways but I agree some people at having problems and personally I find using anti-blaxx annoying when I could just click on the game and make it start. Hope that helps. The other way is this - go to Start -> Run and type "regedit" to launch the Registry Editor; - Find this entry in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices right click on "MountedDevices"; next, click on "Permission...": a window will appear; select the "Administrators" group: a menu with the name "Permissions for Administrators" appears below. In this menu you will see the text "Read" with two choices next to it (Allow or Deny). Click on "Deny", then on "OK" and last confirm your choice by clicking on "Yes" in the dialog window which has appeared; - Find this entry in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\Scsi under \Scsi you will find entries like "Scsi Port 0", "Scsi Port 1", "Scsi Port 2", "Scsi Port 3", etc etc. Now click on any of these entries and look for the one with the text "d347prt" next to "Driver" key; right click on this entry; click on "Permission...": a window will appear; select the "Administrators" group: a menu with the name "Permissions for Administrators" appears below. In this menu you will see the text "Read" with two choices next to it (Allow or Deny). Click on "Deny", then on "OK" and last confirm your choice by clicking on "Yes" in the dialog window which has appeared; - Close the Registry Editor window; Now you can mount DVD image in Daemon Tools and play! that has worked for some too so try both. =========================== Hope that helps |
have you tried
Virtual CD Hide v1.0.0.4 (21.7KB) Virtual CD Hide can hide your virtual CD-drives from SecuRom 5.x and 7.x. ???? |

Also instead of going deep into the registry you could change the Busname Daemon-Tools uses during the installation of it..
That way you will have your own name on it and no game will see it... As for me: Installed Daemon-Tools 3.47 , changed the busname (added a letter or something), installed BF2 fom my original DVD, downloaded the Mini-Image (BleH), mounted with Daemon-Tools and started playing the game. Patched the game, mounted the mini image and started playing the game. |
When installing Daemon Tools, I didnt change the name of the 'Bus', yet my (self made) mini image still works?

Alcohol 120%
I am using Alcohol 120% v1.9.5 Build (3105) (Absolutely Latest) with the GCW images and never had a problem of any sort...
Guys at Alcohol 120% have changed thier Virtual Drive's specification a lot! Its now an SCSI Drive with a new name and can actually do what DeamonTools could do: emulate 100% correctly! |
I didn't do the registry thing (stopped doing that a while ago)
I did this instead: Use a hex editor (on daemon.exe) to change the referecne(s) to daemon.dll to zaemon.dll and rename the DLL to zaemon.dll if you use daemonUI then you need to use the hex editor on daemonUI.exe this is better for one reason: the registry thing goes away after a reboot. |

I just got that reply off some forum, ain't meant to be fore BF2 i know that... They were referring to Imperial Glory.
Like i said, i tried the other steps of changing Daemon during setup and using software emulations without luck, that's why i posted what i did. You never know, it may work for specific cases. Like those with software that locks the registry to prevent third party software modifying it |
1. First download the fixed mini-image from gamecopyworld.com
copy and past this link in your explorer to download the fixed mini image: http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/?d=2005&f=bf2mini-skl!zip 2. Download & instal Deamon-Tools 3. Download & instal Anti-Blaxx from mb-lock.ch.vu 4. Unzip the bf2mini-skl.zip to C:\Battlefield2Image\ (or somewhere else) 5. Start Anti-Blaxx, configure it like this: http://www.gt4.goddeloos.nl/bf2fix/ I did it this way. works for me the only problem is you can only connect to private servers because of a cd-key check. http://suckz.us or find another. You dont have to use a crack or modify your registery. To play you have to start battlefield 2 trough anti-blaxx |
if you dont have any other emulation soft than daemon tools you dont need anti blaxx.
|
yes I dont have Anti Blaxx installed and I can mount my self made mini image using Daemon Tools. I also have alcohol 120 installed.
