BF2 CD Problem
 

HI Guys,
I installed BF2 and it keeps telling me to insert installer disc when I start the game. I keep trying to restart the game and I keep getting the same error, I have tried all 3 disc in the CD-ROM and nothing is working. I installed a No-CD crack patch and that worked fine for version 1.0 but after upgrading to version 1.02 the No-CD patch will not work.
I have the same problems with IL2 Forgotten Battles and I use a no-cd patch to run that game. There must be something wrong with the settings for my CD-Rom but I am clueless as to what it is. Can anyone tell me a quick fix for my problem??? I have read some places to take a snapshot of the disc and install that??? I have no Idea what they are talking about??

It is an original disc your using yes?

Yes, It is the original disc fresh out of the box!!!

I think it's a problem with your CD/DVD-Rom drive.
Try out, if the disc is working on another PC.

could also be safedisc blacklisting, if safedisc detects alcohol / daemon (and even neros image drive which cant do any copy protection emulation) the exe will silently exit right after the cdcheck, so if you have alcohol / daemon installed upgrade to the latest version to avoid the blacklisting, alternatively it could also be the drive is buggered, but if it works on other non safedisc protected titles then its definately the blacklisting

Well as far as I know I do not have any of the programs you described on my PC. I will try to get the latest drivers for my CD-Rom and see if that helps. If not I may just buy a new one.

Solution Working For Me:I have too working v1.0 and i also use no-cd. exe file. Game dont wont start after patching to v1.02. I fix it this way:i reinstall BF 2 (or overvrite cracked dll and exe with original .exe and dll) Now install path on fresh bf 2 installation. Next i mounted mini image from gamecopyworld with deamon tools. For me works good only No-CD mini image #2. Start Game. Should work

Have you seen a v1.02 no cd crack for BF2?? Good luck in finding one :) I have searched and searched. That is why my image isnt loading cus I dont know of a v1.02 no cd crack.

Note: I just made a post/new topic on this exact issue and a work around it, if using Alcohol 120% image AND virtual drive .

If you do find v1.02 no cd, plz share :-)

Nope, sorry. Cannt find v1.2 no cd for BF2. What I did was after i upgraded to v1.02 (btw v1.02 fixed all of my game problems, but i still suck playing, hehe) and created my own mini-cd Image mounted on virtual drive, along with a back up cd of the game. IF, IF i find one, (v1.2 no cd) will pm u :)

if u get alcohol 120% expert install and it allows u to change the clone scsi controller name if u do that safedisk will not detect a clone drive I play with a image in the alcohol 120% clone drive all da time k .

Hey I need help...I tried to install bf2 and i get a bit through the second disk and it says " failed to install battlefield 2 please try again from thhe begining " What can i do?:confused:

Install from your original; if that's what you did, test its readability by copying all files off of it manually; if it's damaged, get a replacement from the publisher. Read the forum FAQ, too.
