need advice on hdd online possible???
 

dont play online through hdd but have been asked if it is possible to play online through the hdd !!!! have done a search and came up with a few options but none that answered my question directley!!!
i know winhip allows game images to be added to hdd via pc but does this also act as patcher for disc id as have been told hdl has inbuilt security to stop online activaty ? i thought it was ok ! long winded i know so can ya play dnas restricted games online through hdl and hdd ??? he he :p

its been my understanding that you CANT play online w/ the hdd not cuz of restrictions, but cuz of a conflict w/ the network adaptor using the files(?) needed for online play. im sure some1 can elaborate on that alot more than i can

For what I know, it has something about HDL hijacking the Expansion port to enable the HDD Support before the Networking drivers are initialised. Therefore, it isn't possible.

so if you wanna play online, it has to be from a disc? can you play online with an original game, if you disable your chip ?

and also, how do you play online with backups? do they all (DNAS games) have to be patched if you wanna play online ?

yes ,,,,, and yes. some mods dont need to be turned off it all depends on your mod !!!!! i got a messiah 2 and never had n e probs with orig games or their backups (patched).

do you know if i have to disable the matrix infinity homebrew ? it has a disable function, so i would imagine yes, i would have to.

The infinity doesn't have to be disabled to go online (at least not with my experience) ;)

Maybe a hunch (i'm not sure cos i aint seen my Modchip Install, and i had it over a year) but with the Infinity i have noticed a red flash (at times) on the front grill, when the PalyStation 2 boot logo appears maybe this is when it turns itself off??

Installed on a v10 btw.

generaly you get the camp fire when ya go online (just a hunch but its got somit to do with the na) mmmmmmmmmight be wrong!!! its the only time i get the camp fire n e way..... ;)
