PAL to NTSC conversion... Any programs?
 

I got some kick ass brit dvd's but they are in Pal region 2 format. Is there a program out there that will convert them to region 1 so I can burn and watch them in a regular DVD player instead of my pc drive?

Any help is appreciated.

I dont want to get banned, so im not gonna give you too much details cause im not sure what all 19321758 admins will think of it...

Anyway, Region and Format are completely different. We'll start with region.

Either
a) Buy a multy region DVD drive, they are available pretty cheap and some single region DVD drives can be changed to multy by inputting a code.
b) Get a program like DVD Region Free, it loads when a DVD is accessed from the drive and just ignores the region.
c) Goto System Properties->DVD Drive Properties and change the region of your drive. You can only do this 4 times so be carefull what u do here. You should change it back to ur region after the conversion.

Now, the converting, the simplest method is to use NeroVision Express, comes with Nero's suite of programs. Goto "Create New Movie" and add each file on the DVD which contains DVD content, add menus and chapters and hit convert, it will ask you for the format etc in there somewhere. It will take a couple of hours but it will do the job.

Admins, correct me on any information I shouldnt have given but these are all legal programs and all perform legal tasks. Over riding the region on YOUR DVD and YOUR DVD DRIVE is 100% legal and has been taken to court in some EU contries and won. :cool:

DVD Decrypter will decrypt the DVD files and remove the region also.

Then use CloneDVD or something similar to backup onto DVD.

Your regular dvd-player is Region free player, yes? If not what model?

Most regular DVD Players are not region free.
Only the cheap ones, Sony or any other big brand wont go Region Free because they also produce the DVDs they want to contain :o

If you're lucky, you might get it region free with a region hack ;)
