How about updating your EAX drivers and/or switching off EAX support for a test? I've had problems with it in the past, with some not-so-compatible games and a few-subversions-older drivers... :( Good luck!

i updated the drivers for the sound card it was working fine and now that i half way through bang gone how do i disable eax on sound card joe?

G'day Paddy,
I have an Audigy 2 Platnium sound card and I am presuming the 2 use similiar programs? To disable my EAX, and it may be the same for you, right click the sound control icon in the system tray, and choose the 'EAX console'. In there you should find a box called something like 'Enable Audio Effects'. Untick it.
Hopefully that is some help.

I disabled my EAX with the game, I too was getting the quietness now and again, but once I saved the game sometimes the sound came back, or if some other triggered event happened it came back.

But after disabling my eax to the game, it played ok.

You guys are not alone...

Checkout any GTA: SA related forum and you'll find only one hot topic: Audio Problems...

People went far beyond a simple EAX disable but the issues are pretty clear with any Creative series card....

Right now, only a patch from Rockstarts and/or a massive driver from Creative might solve the problem...

Whos_Ur_Paddy? 05-07-2005 01:05

usually they would have a patch released by now i mean the game is just out a month does anyone know if creative or even rockstar are working on an update i fixed my problem but i fear it could come back again. i made sure eax was disabled in control panel then i went into game there is no option for ax in my sound menu of my game is this normal ? started game this didnt work . then i cut my save games out of my docs( san andreas user files) and paste then some where else started a new game and sounds worked i then exited and pasted the folder back to my docs started the game again and this time loaded my save game and it worked ??????????????????????? my setting are in this folder too ar'nt they so must have cleared setting and worked

If it any worth it, GTA San Andras isn't the first GTA game that had that problem. Experince the same problem in Vice City 1.1 version also.
