Any recommendations on replacing my cd rewriter?
Hello, I've decided to replace my internal IDE cd rewriter as its having difficulty reading cds first time around.
Any thoughts and/or recommendations on what i should look at are welcome my pc is a Pentium 4 2.53 GHz running XP, David. |
A Liteon drive that supports sub 96 for cd's and possibly a pioneer A07, A08, or A09 for dvd's.

LOL, don't use Pioneer - it's real crap! I know it because I use a 107D - it can't even write double layer and it makes error when burning faster than 4x. For CD-RW the best choice is Plextor PlexWriter Premium. No one has ever made such a good recorder - highly compatible, versatile, 8MB buffer and the best - each burned CD is recognised as a PRESSED ONE! Which means you can create perfect SecuROM, SafeDisc, LaserLoc and Starforce (up to 3.5 but maybe even better) copies.
For DVDs a nice choice would be GSA-5163D which is comatible with all DVD standards. |
Personally, I prefer the later Benqs like the 1620Pro or the 1640. The LGs and the latest LiteOns aren't that bad......
