battlefield 2 directx update
 

hi
i installed battlefield 2 , and it did install the directx9.0c
i use windows xp sp2 and it has the directx9.0c

now my pc doesn't work perfectly with the others games
does somebody know what bt2 installs???
i'm sure not only the directx9.0c , because i had the directx 9.0c

Many years ago, I had weird problems with Blood 2. I suspected that it was because of the new DirectX (around 5.0?) that another game installed. With lots of struggles, I downgraded DirectX manually. The problems weren't gone. Later I found out it was the new nVidia Detonator video card drivers that were causing the problems. So, I suggest you take a look at your video card drivers instead.

I have the same Problem with the Detonator 77.30! GTA SA dont run very well, I have always graphic Probs with it, but when I would downgrade the Detonator, BF2 wouldnt run perfectly :(

1. There are newer nVidia drivers (77.72 - June 22, 2005) available at www.nvidia.com .
2. Look on the BF2-DVD in the DirectX-Folder. There are some Patches for DX9.0c from Feb2005 & Apr2005. That's why BF2 installed DirectX 9.0c although you already had it.

Yeah the correct way usually installing drivers for a GFX card on a machine with a lower version of DirectX is this

1. Install new DirectX
2. Install newer drivers for card.
3. Play


Cause your game perhaps reinstalled DX9 it may have corrupted your drivers a little bit, reinstalling drivers (or getting the newer 77.72 ones) may help.
