Linksys Rounter - Hosting Games
hi, anyone here have a Linksys router ? am having difficulty trying to host a server for BF1942 and C&C Generals,
i know this page tells you the ports, but i have tried putting them in soo many different ways and calling tech support, wondering if someone has any of these 2 games to host in their Linksys router, thanks , very much apreciate it |
Verizon Westell WireSpeed Modem
actually , after calling tech support alot, i tried connecting directly to my modem and hosting a BF 1942 game, and still my friend wasnt abel to join in.
Is anyone having problem trying to host a game with a friend from a Verizon DSL Westell Wire Speed Modem ?? Thanks |
Disable your windows firewall while using your router
Goto Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Right click on the connection showing and goto properties Goto the last Tab (advanced) and turn off the firewall there. If you know the ports for the games, you can add them into the firewall, but best off since your router has a firewall anyways :) |
thanks
thanks DABhand, it sure did the trick, i know after i installed Norton 2005 Systemworks it said it was going to be the default firewall or something. And about 2 weeks ago i enabled the Windows firewall and began having these conflics, I finally got to host and try out with my friend Coral Sea for BF1942 in COOP mode , was awsome , and Tubruk 2 .
thanks again, very much apreciate it |
No problem :)
Its usually the most easiest of explanations that are the causes. If you follow me :) |
