"disable ATA" what does it do?
 
hi
i really need someone's help, i was playing around with starfire nightmare and i press the "disable ATA" button, and now programs have been shutting off automatically, i pressed the enable button but it still shuts down
i also disabled cd before, but i enabled it....
and installing programs keeps on failing

The moral to your story is:
"Dont mess with things you know nothing about!"
Why would you go through so much hassle if you owned the original discs? :D

My problem was a lot bigger...
After installing GTR my PC started kacking around and the readspeed of my harddrive was at a constant rate of 3.6 mb/sec (!!!) which is slower then USB 2... :mad:
I uninstalled the drivers with SFClean which didn't help a lot ... just crashed more often and another result: a "cpu-auslastung" of constantly 50%-60%...
don't think that's normal...
Only way to solve the problem: Reiinstalling WinXP which isn't funny coz i did it just 3 weeks before.. :(
Now i will NEVER EVER install a starforce protected game even if it's half-life 3 or GTA 12 or whatever, game-of-the-year... :cool:
Just wanted to say how ****in **** this copy protection is....
