Earth 2160

Now there is a FIXED IMAGE available on GameCopyWorld for the english version of EARTH 2160.

My german DVD-Version does not have a real copy protection, only the Serial+OnlineActivation stuff. I can play my original game without DVD inserted.

Is the english version protected with a copy protection (Safedisc, Securom, Starforce) ???

The English version isn't out yet. It will be published in a couple of months.
I don't know either, what use the mini-image should have.

In the forums of the publisher, one of the executive says, there will be also no protection for this game. It will be released less then two months in the uk.
So no crack or image is necessary.

Btw a ****ing awesome game. Much better than the age of empire wannabes out there.

impic0, not only GCW isn't gonna host your serial fix, it is actually considered illegal by law and the forum rules!

In that case I will remove my offer, but it is still my belief that people should do whatever they want with the software they bought. They invented copy protections and we accept it, they invented internet/phone activation and we accepted it. Now will they ever accept our rights? The very last thing is to remove the ability to play it at home between computers.
Why should we buy software anymore? We can download it from the internet without copy protection and without activation...

You haven't bought the software. You only bought ONE license to use the software.

fine fine - but some years ago games like Starcraft a.s.o. got a spawn mode, with which u could play at least in LAN with one Original and up to 8 players... And i agree with impi about in this way..

When I buy a car I can do with it what i want as long as I keep it at home. When I buy an apple, nobody complains when I remove the part I don't like - the core. When I buy computer hardware, nobody can say that i am not allowed to overclock it. However, this does not fit here and this discussion takes us nowhere...

Earth 2150 had also spawn modes. And what happend? I went on a LAN and someone gave his disc around and almost everyone had a spawn version after that.
In times where meaning of copyrights is so low, I also wouldn't think about spawn versions anymore. In the forums of the game they mentioned it already and asked for multiple license for the registrants which should be only a few bucks.

impic0 13-06-2005 11:31

Well, the point is: if there's no spawn version, you just use cracks. So all they achieve with that is scaring off the people who bought it. People who don't, just use a crack that's the point. And that's why all this copy protection / activation / serial limiting is absolutley wrong because it hits the wrong people. It makes life hard for people who bought the game, the pirates don't care.
