is it possible to play farcry with my friends over the internet without "playing online" with ubi account?

Patches that make this possible are called "private server patches" or similar (the stress is on the word "private"). Search around for such stuff. Good luck,

or you can setup a VPN (virtual private network) and use the lan-mode over the internet.

Or get multiple Wireless Routers and set them all up except 2 at each end to be wirless access points :P

any tip on a good guide to set up a VPN. (something like VPN for dummies!)
