Some HDD Questions
Hi Guys!
I bought HdAdvance a HDD and a networkadapter for my ps2! It works without any probs... But i got a 2nd PS2 at my girlfriend, and sometimes i wanna play. But the problem is that the laser is dead! If i insert a cd the drive will not spinning. So i canīt start HDAdvance. And now my question... Is it possible, to create a file on the MemoryCard witch boots HDAdvance??? Because then i can take my mc my hdd and my network adapter to my girlfriend and i can play there without any probs... ...question number 2: Is the laser really dead if the drive will not spinning after you insert a cd? Or what problem could it be else? ---- I hope you can help me .... Thanx ---- Sorry for my bad english, im from austria :o |
No ideas? :(

Umm, looks like a modchip that can boot an hdl.elf on your hdd will be your only choice. Because if you have the elf on your mem card you still need a ps1 cd to boot it.

*EDIT* Oh and if her disc wont spin at all this could be because of a few reasons. One being that the laser is totally shot and the PS2 simply doesn't even think it has a disc in it, or depending on the version your your PS2 the BA or LA is shot. |
I read somewhere that someone using the new firmwared MI booted hdl.elf from hdd. Maybe I just read that wrong.

hummm ... cool, well I could be wrong then. This would be very cool if they did! Link?

Some member of ps2hd.com had that chip and was claiming an older version of hdl worked but the more recent version didnt.

I was wondering if this could be whats gone on the PS2 I was giving by a friend... It starts up, but I press the eject button nothing happens, also dvd drive does not spin or anything. But fan and everything else works, |
Sounds like it to me...

ok, if the others believe its that too, where can I get replacements, and how would they be fitted?
Thanks lads :) |
BA Replacements can be obtained from www.divineo.co.uk and they have to be soldered in place of the old chip on the mobo :)
