DVD-R not running
I have an onld DVD drive (about 4 or 5 years old) from times when there were no DVD-burners and no DVD-Rs and +Rs and stuff. So now a friend of mine got a burner and burned a DVD-R for me.
Unfortunatelly my drive doesn't read it! Is that normal? Can the old drives usually read those "new formats"? Could a firmware update do anothing to it? Thanks for help. By the way, it's a LITEOEN DVD-ROM LTD122 |
It surely is a firmware problem (or bad media), but I don't know if later firmwares will help you, but is worth a try.
Have a look here for ltd122 firmware. Damn when will rpc1.org be up again ? |
Thanks.
I found the same file on another side. The thing is I don't know how to install it with windows XP, there is no boot disk and firmware updates should be made in DOS mode right? By the way, is it only "ltd122nc.exe" that I have to download? I don't wanna mess up my drive, heard that could happen if firmware is installed wrong. |
