Mounting an Image?
What does it do when you mount an image on a driver? and how do you know which driver to mount it on, like for sims 2, idk what im doing, im using Daemon tools..?!?!

Daemon tools will create a "virtual drive". It's not a real physical drive but it acts the same way. The only difference is it loads images like ISOs from the hard drive.
Start daemon tools and you should see a little icon appear in the your task tray that looks like a red lightning bolt. First you may need to set the number of drives you wish to create. Right click on the lightning bolt highlight "Virtual CD/DVD-Rom" Followed by "Set number of devices..." The number shown will be the number of virtual drives daemon tools makes. Select one for now. To mount an image right click on the lightning bolt followed again by "Virtual CD/DVD-Rom" and then "Device 0:[?:]" and then "Mount image". Navigate to an ISO file or other image type and select open. The image will be loaded to the virtual drive. The question mark in "Device 0:[?:]" will be the drive letter daemon tools assigns your virtual drive. (This is how you find the drive in my computer). Once the image is loaded you'll be able to work with it from the virtual drive like a regular physical drive. After you do those few steps you should be able to figure out the remaining parts of Daemon Tools. I hope it wasn't too confusing for you. Good luck. |
If you have trouble, i'd suggest burning the ISO to a cd-r and using it in your normal cd-rom drive. (That is if its a legit image made from the Sims 2 game that you own) Otherwise i'd advise you to read the forum rules..
