StarForce 3 - Difficult or easy to crack???
I am really wondering why some games which are StarForce3-protected are cracked very fast, some after a long time and some still have not been cracked, yet.
Games, which are StarForce 3 protected: 1. Codename: Panzers - Phase One (was cracked very fast!) 2. Codename: Panzers - Phase Two (has not been released yet, but will probably be StarForce3-protected!) 3. DTM Race Driver 2 (still not really cracked!) 4. GTR - FIA GT Racing Game (still not really cracked!) 5. Obscure (cracked, but took a long time!) 6. Singles - Flirt up your life! (was cracked very fast!) 7. Singles 2 - Wilde Zeiten (was cracked very fast!) 8. Splinter Cell 3 - Chaos Theory (still not cracked!) 9. Trackmania (was cracked very fast!) 10. Trackmania Sunrise (still not cracked!) I really don't understand why for example "Singles 2" was cracked after some days, although it uses a very new version of StarForce 3 and for example "DTM Race Driver 2", which is much older and uses a much older version of StarForce 3 has still NOT been cracked. Does anybody can tell me why? |
there are different versions of starforce. If you reversed one version there is still another version which is different.

And on top of what noscript says there are different with each game how many files that are protected.
For example SCCT has something like 136 files protected by starforce, that would take a real long time to crack as there are no generic tool for it. Other games may have only .exe and one .dll file protected and can therefore be cracked easier. |
Plus, most of the games you mentioned had only the original retail quickly cracked. I.e. Trackmania and Panzers: are there cracks for the most recent patches? No, although both Trackmania 1.2.5 and Panzers 1.10 are out for quite some time. As noscipt and kosmiq say, it has to do with different versions of Starforce.

It could be that nobody wants to install the disease called starforce on to there computer anymore to crack...I know I dont. You might aswell just go into your windows dir and delete some random files...gives the same BSOD and stops other programs working ;)

its to do with the amount of pcode (vm crap) and hidden files used by the game
these vary obviously, and some of the games might have different versions, but the versions dont really change that much, more fixes/tweaks to the vm, and 'fixes' like the anti usb thing etc etc |
