Xbox button flashes green only

I have a 1.6 smartxx modded Xbox and it flashes green not red on the button anyone know why this would happen?

kosmiq 26-05-2005 06:59

Never heard of flashing green only... And as much as I can remember the following flashes is possible:

Quote:

Solid Green - Problem: None (XBOX is in perfect shape) - Solution: (none)

Orange Flashing - Problem: Too much heat. - Solution: Turn the XBOX off for a while.

Green Flashing - Problem: None (just means DVD is in use) - Solution: (none)

Green, Orange, Green, Orange - Problem: No detected video pack. - Solution: Check the connection of the video pack.

Solid Red - Problem: There is an error with the DVD tray. - Solution: Get the tray into the proper position.

Red, Orange, Red, Orange: Problem: Part of the installed RAM is not functional. - Solution: Replace the RAM.

Long Red and Green - Problem: Hard drive does not function accordingly. - Solution: (mostly) Replace the hard drive.

Red and Long Green - Problem: DVD drive does not function accordingly. - Solution: (mostly) Replace the DVD drive.

Green, Orange, Green, Orange - Problem: USB bus crash. - Solution: Remove some USB devices.

Flashing RED - corrupt eeprom

Solid Green, no video/sound/eject - corrupt TSOP (known as console coma)
So it seems as your xbox is for some reason reading from the dvd-rom judging by the flashing codes.
You can try too start the xbox and during boot press the eject button and see if it will continue the booting.
Are you getting Video/sound? Did you do anything the last time you powered down?
Please describe the problem a little more.

No video or sound tried removing chip same thing.
yes tried ejecting the dvd also still same result.
no changes except had set to hd resolution in dash but testing on standard tv possibly the problem?

The HD resolution on a regular TV can't be good as far as I can see.
Can you boot with any boot disc, like SlaYers or Auto Installer Deluxe?
Also test if you can FTP to the xbox after about 15 secs from power on.
If the FTP works it is your video settings that are wrong and I do not know how to fix it, even though it can't be that hard really. Maybe Enigma Video Switch Disc will do the job for you. Enigma is real easy to use even if you can't see anything. But the no sound part worries me.

But start with the boot disc thing, if you do not have one or do not know how to use it feel free to ask on usage (*whisper* and PM me if you do not have one */whisper* please dont ban me :D ).

Also I think that the SmartXX has more than one BIOS bank or am I wrong there? Try booting to the chip OS instead of the bios and put a new bios on another bank.

If nothing of the above works I am afraid it could be so called 'console coma', but that usually only happens to the EEPROM and not the modchip.

No matter if that fixes it or not please report back here, and if nothing did work I will take a look at some info that might be helping.
Hope you get your xbox working again!
