Sims 2 no-cd help
 

Yo, i just got my sims 2 and have been playing it many times today and i was getting tired of putting in the CD everytime. Can someone plz tell me which no-cd patch to use cause these are the ones i found:

do i download all of them or wich one. Help plz. Thx! :o

you should download one of the fixed images (choose one) not one of the fixed exe`s, because if you use these you won`t be able to build a house later in the game.
mount the fixed image with daemon tools.

don't start a whole new topic just use the search theres loads on sims 2!

Mount the image? No-CD for Sims 2 help
 

Im new to this and have downloaded Daemon. But what does mount the image mean? I have downloaded a few RAR files to enable No-CD for Sims 2, but not sure what to do.

This is for my kids who love to put finger:eek: prints on their CD games, and I would love to keep the CD's far away from them.

Install Daemon-Tools, and then let the computer restart. Now, extract the rar files. Look around the extracted content. Amongst all those files you should see a .MDF and a .MDS. Now, look at your tray. You should see a red icon that looks like thunder.

Right Click this Icon -> Virtual CD/DVD-Rom -> Device 0 -> Mount image

Now a browse window will pop up. Use it to select the .MDS. Once the .MDS is selected, press ok. that should do the trick, I think. Now try playing without the CD.

PS This applies to any of the fixed image rars.

OK, some of this sounds easy to do, but the one part I dont know about is how to extract an RAR file. Can I use Win Zip?

Also, once I use Daemon on the .mds file, then do I need to move the new file to a specific directory? I assume I put in the directory with the Sims2.exe

Use winrar to extract the rars. www.rarlabs.com is where you can download winrar.

The .MDS does not need to be in any specific directory. Just select it in the explorer from Daemon-tools.

hoDownload a trial version of Winrar.
You can put the file (its a mini image) wherever you want and browse to its location from the Daemon tools system tray icon. But to keep things all together then yes put the mini image in the games install folder. That way its nice and easy to find.

Thunder is not visable, it is only heard. The icon is a white circle with a 'lightning' strike through it. :D

does anybody of you guys know, if the sims 2 fixes from megagam*s work? or is it the same problem as wih the other cracks, where you can't build a house?

My friend has sims 2 and I want to put it on my computer so that I can play it without the cd's (cause my friend who has it still plays it) so how exactly do I go about doind this?
