Republic Commando frozen problems

Hi guys, i already read all the posts about the game in this forum and i can't get the solution.
I'm able to open the game & create a new profile but my computer get's frozen when its loading the first campaing called "the begining" it seems to be at 100% loaded but nothing happens it gets frozen and i have the restart my computer again.
I already check my computer with the program than comes with the game and it pass the "exam", but of course i can't either play .
I already changed the compatibility of the 2 .exe of the game (the launch and the SWRepublicCommando.exe) to Windows 98 / ME but it still dont work, i got a MAYA RADEON 9000 PRO, could be this the problem?
Thanks for your answers, and sorry for my inglish (Spanish dude :) )

Well the problem probably isnt your video card, it may be the fact that you're running out of system resources RAM for the game and its causing a failure. Usually, anymore, you need atleast 512 and that isn't even enough for a lot of newer FPS style games.

Another problem could be software related IE: adware, virus'. etc. Try that as well cause they can also kill system resources.

If none of these work, don't know what to tell you.

AFAIK, only pretty heavy problems can cause a complete system shutdown on modern systems (WinXP or 2K, im guessing...) - and as far as i can tell, it freezes on rendering... that points towards a video driver issue. I've run into that kind of thing on a lot of games with ATI-drivers... not that game though, it runs smoothly for me on a radeon x650. If the game is not an original (seems a fair bet around here) it might simply be a bad rip. The closest i come to advice would be to make sure it is absolutely nesecary to reboot. Give it a bit of time, listen for motion on your harddrive.. if it dosent timeout, your pretty much screwed. might try to change videodriver, but i dont think it would work. getting another copy of the game seems a better bet. If, on the other hand, you are eventually able to shut down the game without shutting down the system, the error might be fixable. A file might be missing or have a wrong parameter.
