Rome:TW wont work with emulation sofware and cant find any solution, any help?
As soon as I updated my Rome TW to V1.2 it stopped working. When I mount either the mini-image or the full copy of my original CD1 it says "CD/DVD emulation software has been detected. Please disable all CD/DVD emulation software and re-start the game." When i went the the games website it said to disable all the emulation options and it will work fine. Obviously it didnt. When I burn either image and try to run it through that it says "Please eject and re-insert the CD-ROM, select OK and restart application" and obviously that didnt work either. Ive tried burning with RPMS and no RPMS, uninstalling all my emulation softwares and trying the run from copy of CD1 but still got same error message, and anything else I can think of.
Ive searched the forums and found nothing about this problem. Also, I have noticed that the V1.2 mini-image isnt even availible for download anymore. If anyone could help me on this one I would be much appreciated since I very much enjoy playing the Total War series. Thanks. |
Surely a blacklisting of alcohol, clonecd, daemon.....You have to disable (or uninstall) them in case.

Runs fine on mine just using the mini img and deamon tools, you dont have to do anything like unhook drives.
|
Hmm, maybe. You should consider updating your emulation soft then....
|
why u updated them?act like u really bought a orginal cd~~
|
What is that supposed to mean ?
If emu soft is detected he may use an older (blacklisted) version. Newer versions may get rid of this. |

If you are so desperate to play then running it from the original disc would surely work. ;) |
Figured out problem.
It was my own fault of course. I must have reinstalled it at one point and forgot about it and in my haste to not search through my CD library for the originals or to impatient to burn my images, I installed directly from the images and there is no solution for that besides re-install. I forgot this was one of those games that cant be installed from the images no matter the RPMS. So I burned the images and re-installed with the CDs and all is good. Thanks for all the answers anyway. |
