What about the registry key you have to change for Nforce chipsets?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\PnP\Pci] "EnableNativeModeATA"=dword:00000001 You still have to do this? |
actually im not sure, so i figured i wouldnt put it in the guide see if anyone would say something about it not working.
|
Well, if you already added the registry entry then try removing it and running the game as you've described and see if it loads. If it doesn't work it's more than likely the registry hack is needed for Nforce chipsets!

Problems encountered
Hi there, :D
I did all following the steps described by u and it says something like <checking disk> and then Win popsup a message with <Windows - Delayed Write Failed> If i put dword value true with <EnableNativeModeATA> my parallel ATA wil not work anymore and i can only access serial ATA I have NForce3 250GB with AMD Athlon64 How on earth cand this game work ?.. |
Works fine for me and other people that have tried it, i've never even heard of that error message, u sure ur an nforce chipset 2/3 ? as this method only works for that.
|
About that problem
yes i have K8N-E Deluxe with nForce3 250GB
Here are the versions: 1. Starforce Nightmare 1.12 2. Daemon Tools 3.47 with <All Option On> on <Emulation> 3. Disk3 MiniImage I tried again a few seconds ago and when sequence of checking the disk initialized the progress bar goes only 25% and then disappears  |
Remember when installing daemon tools, to name the bus names different.
As SF will look for those names. Also when mounting an image, you will notice in the same popup window a properties option. Go in there. And rename the top 3 values. I.e. Vendor, Device name and Version to something else. Mount the image, enable all emulation, close daemon tools from the taskbar saying yes to keep emulation options. Then disable Node and CD, secondary channels (master/slave) off Then try running the game. |
Now it's OK
The problem seems to be from the disabled <Primary Master and Slave>
I have 1 SATA HDD and 2 IDE HDD The 2 HDD are set on Channel1 and on Channel2 i have the optical drives so i only need to disable <Secondary Master and Slave> I didn't used the registry key for native mode ATA, so it works ok without it ;) Thanx again for this thread :p IT'S VERY USEFULL |
Yeah doh myself, i only have one sata drive so didnt have ide drives in mind :/
