Scratching noise

my mate has got a problem with his ps2 but ive never seen this before. Theres a scratching noise everytime the disk is reading but this is only in the upright possition. Any adjustments need doing any grease or anything

where is the scratching comming from ?

You need to turn the White Cog in the back of the DVD Drive clockwise a click and see what happens then. If nothing, try two clicks and you should be fine :)
